This year, as a result of the COVID pandemic, my family chose to spend time with each other at home by eating, playing games, getting dressed in traditional clothing, and by just being with each other.

Unlike times in the past where we were able to celebrate the new year and wish friends peace, prosperity and good tidings, we did it via zoom…at least until next year.

Every year from October to November, Hindus everywhere celebrate Diwali.  This traditional holiday is known as the festival of lights and it is a time associated with the goddess of prosperity.  We celebrate this time by eating delicious Indian snacks, desserts and food with family and friends.
