WRIST INJURY CHIROPRACTOR
Serving Philadelphia and Surrounding Areas
The wrist is a complex region of the upper extremity consisting of multiple joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments. It is the bridge between the wrist and the forearm and therefore when injured it is important to have a doctor that understands the connection between the muscles of the forearms, the joints in the hand and the ligaments in the wrist.
The majority of wrist injuries are traumatic in nature and are related to direct trauma, overuse or falls. It is common for the wrist to be injured in a motor car accident. Many patients also suffer wrist complaints such as sprain/strains, ligament injuries or carpal tunnel syndrome related to overuse or direct traumas which occur at work. Wrist complaints can also be arthritic in nature. As with all musculoskeletal conditions it is important to have a thorough consultation and evaluation of wrist injuries. Depending on the condition, your chiropractic physician may also recommend testing such as plain x-rays, MRI testing or nerve conduction testing.
